First Visit
We understand that your first visit can be a little overwhelming, and to help you feel more comfortable, here are some frequently asked questions with answers!
Where are you located?
We are located at the intersection of Forest Avenue and Washington Street in Jackson, Alabama, at 1120 Forest Avenue.
Where should I park and enter the building?
There is parking lot on either side of the building. Handicap parking spaces are available as well. To enter the worship center for a service, the easiest access is at the front door, located in the front of the building under the steeple. A friendly greeter will be happy to assist you from there. If you arrive for Sunday School, please come by the Welcome Center behind the auditorium in the education center where someone will be happy to take you to a class.
What time are your services?
We have a Sunday morning service at 11:00 A.M. and a Sunday evening service at 6:00 P.M. Both services are distinct, offering different music and sermons.
How should I dress?
We believe God is more interested in your heart than what kind of clothes you wear. You will see some people dressed up, reflecting an understanding of God's majesty, and some in jeans or more casual attire. In any form, a Christian modesty and appropriate attire is appreciated. We are glad you have chosen to worship at Forest Avenue!
Who can attend Sunday School?
We have Sunday School classes for all ages and for all walks of life. Everyone, regardless of age, is welcomed and encouraged to attend Sunday School for fellowship, prayer, and Bible study.
What are worship services like?
During worship, we sing several hymns. We have a choir, organ, and piano. We also have special music offered by soloists and the choir. The pastor preaches sermons from the Bible that are designed to teach you from God's Word resulting in life changing impact for your daily living.
What is available for children during worship?
We love having children worship with their families. We believe even young children can begin to grasp the worship service and that they learn more quickly to sit still and participate when they are welcomed into the sanctuary. We also have a staffed nursery for infants to 3 year old children.
